Our record proves it. We have provided custom heat processing solutions for tough applications all over the world.

Roller Hearth Incineration Furnace

Fuel fired Roller Hearth Incineration Furnace System engineered and built by Wellman for use in the US Army's program for the destruction of chemical weapon stockpiles. The primary heating chamber (left) operates at 1600˚F. The 40 foot long afterburner (right) operates at 2000˚F

Catenary Furnace
Print Friendly Version

Electrically Heated Catenary Type Furnace for annealing stainless steel mesh screen using a hydrogen/nitrogen atmosphere at temperatures up to 2000˚F. The furnace included a static water cooler and a high volume recirculated atmosphere convection cooling system to cool the screen to less than 200˚F before leaving the protective atmosphere.

Pit Furnace

Electrically heated Pit Furnace for heat treating gun tubes for M1A1 Tanks.

Performance tests to verify heating rates and uniformity were performed at Wellman's factory prior shipment.

Chain Conveyor Furnace

Electrically heated Chain Conveyor Furnace for heat treating and blackening CRT aperture screens. This 143 foot long furnace has eight parallel alloy load chains and operates at 1200˚F.

High Temperature Pusher Furnace

Electrically heated high temperature Pusher Sintering Furnace for processing nuclear fuel material. This furnace has molybdenum heating elements for operation in a hydrogen atmosphere at 3272˚F.

Special Vacuum Furnaces

Elevator Type Vacuum furnace (left) operates at 3500˚F. for processing carbon/carbon composite aerospace components. Horizontal Chamber Vacuum Furnace (upper right) operates at temperatures up to 3992˚F to test components used in the international space station. Integral Oil Quench Vacuum Furnace (lower right) was installed at a US national laboratory and is designed for 2400˚F.
